Why We Need You to Stretch Your Legs For SSLI

While increasing focus on reading, writing, science, technology and mathematics over the last many years, programs in art, music, performing arts and physical education have been eliminated as budget cuts occur across the country, leaving students with few physical and creative outlets during the school day. Declines in these areas have occurred at all levels of education even as evidence indicates that these disciplines contribute to increased achievement in academic subjects and the overall health and well-being of our students.
At Schechter we cultivate athletes, art, drama and music students. We provide our students with broad opportunities through classroom, co-curricular and extra curricular activities and by allowing for exploration through a wide range of options.
Our ultimate aim is to provide students with a well-rounded education, which means with your gift athletics, drama and the performing & fine arts will continue to be a strong focus at Schechter LI.
Your participation and generous support will allow us to strengthen these outstanding programs for our children.
